NEWARK -- A sea of volunteers in bright yellow shirts descended on a section of Mt. Prospect Avenue on Saturday to bring relief to a street plagued with abandoned homes and trash piles.

Councilman Anibal Ramos Jr. wrote an op-ed on bail reform that was published in nj.com and TAPintoNewark.

Last month, a Newark policeman risked his life when he jumped into the frigid Passaic River to rescue a man who was trying to escape capture.
