Wow. The potholes in front of 61 Victoria (6th) avenue are making buildings shake when trucks or buses roll into them. THey are 3 inches and more deep in places. You can see the bricks that once were the avenue. SOMETHING has to be done.

It sounds like an explosion everytime even a car goes into and out of these series of potholes.

Someone on a motorcycle or a bike in the dark can get SERIOUSLY INJURED. At this point it is a public health issue.

I recently moved from Manchester pl to Summer Ave. And I noticed the streets are filthy because we don’t get no street cleaning. Why? It’s a shame that only the streets from Mt Prospect n up are the only ones that gets street cleaning, the rest are forgotten.

Dear Councilman Aníbal Ramos Jr. ,

My name is Gabrielle Vera, I’m 18 years old and a student at Rutgers University Newark. I grew up in Newark and live in our city’s North ward. I am the former secretary of the Newark Student union, an organization that worked tirelessly for the return of local control in our city.

Throughout my high school career I dedicated countless hours to engaging, supporting, and empowering my community. I have done work with Sadie Nash to support young woman of color and was recently selected as an Aspen young leaders fellow in Newark.

I began my college career early after dropping out of high school at 16 years old and returning to a non-traditional program known as gateway to college , located at Essex County College. After returning to school, I graduated at 17 with a high school diploma and 40 college credits, and immediately began Rutgers University in the Fall of 2017. All of my experiences combined led me to decide to become a political science major and legal studies minor at Rutgers.

As a political science major, I have been given a once in a lifetime opportunity to intern at our nation’s capital with the Washington Center. Unfortunately the costs of the program total to approximately $14,700. I have already earned a residential scholarship through the Honors Living Learning Community at Rutgers Newark to help minimize costs, however I am still in need.

Is there any way that you, Councilman, can assist me with scholarship funds? I have and still am an active member in my community and see this as a great opportunity for my community to help me. As we all know, it takes a village.

Please keep in touch and read part of my story through my GoFundMe account.

    Thank you for your time,

    Gabrielle G. Vera

    Dear Councilman,

Several non-residents park on Mount Prospect between Heller Parkway and Graftin Ave leaving with residents with no choice but to park on the bike lane and subsequently receiving $54 fines. This is unacceptable and something must be done that favor the residents living on the avenue.

Several very large potholes on Doremus ave are causing drivers to veer onto oncoming traffic to avoid. Someone will get hurt or killed. These have been reported several times starting in 2017

I saw a list on NJ.com tonight of all the streets getting repaired. 30 miles worth of streets. Verona Ave is not on that list between Highland Ave. and Mt. Prospect Ave. Can you look into it. I have to drive on the opposite side of the road to avoid damaging my car.

The number above does not answer.

I am calling because I think you may be able to put me in contact with Aspira, Inc. of NJ. Just to remind you, Anibal Ramos and Carlos Valentin were both tutors when I was the tutoring director at Rutgers in Newark. At this time, I am trying to invite students to a Leadership Summit being held at Princeton University on 4?28/18 by reaching out to appropriate CBOs. Aspira participated last year bringing 30 students to Caldwell University, but I have not been able to contact anybody at Aspira this year. Please contact me ASAP via your favorite method.

Hi I was wondering if I was the only parent that lives in the Forest Hill area that received a phone call from Anibal Ramos Jr office on November 17, 2017 saying that they would be giving out free turkeys. Unfortunately I did not get the lady name who called however she stated "I am calling from Anibal Ramos office and that my son Jayshyn Abel who attends Barringer High School will be able to pick up a free Turkey on Saturday November 18, 2017 at 12:30pm.

When I went to the office a man was standing on the outside told me to go to the office on Bloomfield Avenue that they would be giving out Turkeys on Monday.

Today when I arrived with my son I was told that they had nothing to do with the call however they were giving out the turkeys.

This is very disturbing knowing that a phone call was placed to my home from a person who works for the office of Anibal Ramos with misleading information.

In addition the staff that was working at the Vince Lombardi Center of Hope told me that others numerous people had also came to pick up a turkey after receiving a phone call.

I am very unhappy that this situation would occur.

    Thank You

Who can help me with damage I incurred from a large pothole on Center Street/McCarter highway on Monday 10/23/17? It appears the pavers where removed in the walkway leaving a very large hole. I lost two tires and a rim.
