I have been on a waiting list since February 18, 2001 to remove two trees in front of my property 69-71 Cutler Street, Newark. The roots to these trees have uplifted my sidewalks as well as my driveway. As requested, I have sent quite a few emails with pictures and have made phone calls. Someone is always going to call me back and it never happens.
Recently one tree was cut down but not the other. Interestingly, my neighbors across the street, whom works for the city, had their trees and sidewalks done. I don’t understand why I’ve been on a list for so long and phone calls are never returned. How is a business run like this? I was born and raised in Newark and love my city. Where is the common courtesy of a return phone call, an explanation?
I am now trying to sell my home and if the trees are not removed and sidewalk not repaired, the deal will not go through. I can’t afford to have this done.
Can I please have the courtesy of a phone call with a status? It would be truly and greatly appreciated.

PLEASE HELP US WE HAVE A BUSINESS AND IT NOT SAFE.
Sincerely,
Extremely upset property tax payer.
3rd Ave from Mccarter Highway to Broadway are extremely filled with trash on the road. No street sweepers have ever come to clean it up. Can the city address this issue?
Thanks,
Chris
This is not acceptable Mr. Ramos I pay my taxes, when I have Construction Debris I called the appropriate party to remove it and pay for it. I DON’T BRIBE CITY WORKERS. This needs to be stopped.
Thank you

Thank you in advance for your help
What this city needs to do is make their neighborhoods more desirable to live in. Strongly encourage citizens to maintain and beautify their homes. Their should be an ordinance that homeowners are responsible to fix their broken and upheaved sidewalks and driveways. Their should be a crackdown on the quality of life issues that have a continued degrading affect on neighborhoods.
And before giving $12 million dollars to a developer for a new highrise, they should repave some of the horrendous streets in our neighborhood and elsewhere around the city. You can only patch streets so much. Except for the Mt. Prospect Ave. project, I do not believe there has been any street repaving in Forest Hill for three years. That is not acceptable and is very short sighted.
We arguably live in the best neighborhood in Newark and our church members cannot go to service without worrying about their cars being broken into. You want to build a great city? Start with building a great neighborhood and all the other elements will fall into place.
