N 10th St between 3rd Ave and Bloomfield Ave has not been plowed or salted yet. It is Tuesday night. Myself and neighbors have called sanitation 16 times for a request. Your city hall office voice mail is full. Where is the help?

I am furious! I missed two days of work because nobody came out to plow the snow from my street. I live on triton terrace, north newark which is on a dead end street. It’s sad that hard working people like myself have to go through this when we are struggling already to make ends meet. Although you are not my councilman, but since you want to know “How was the City’s response to the 2016 blizzard?” It is HORRIBLE!!!!!!! As I write, nothing has been plowed, our streets are still filled with snow (Woodbine Avenue, Manor Drive, Mt. Vernon Place, Tuxedo Parkway, Normand Road…). My husband has to walk to Irvington/South Orange tonight because he cannot move his car from our driveway. Why? Because he risk getting stuck!!!

I have tweeted the Deputy Mayor and the Mayor, some 22 hours ago, still NOTHING!!!!!!

In the 29 years I have resided in Newark, this has never happened; and yes I get the magnitude of the storm, but what I don’t get is the lack of plows/equipment, given the fact that this was declared a “State of Emergency”, why haven’t the State assisted us; why haven’t the State cleared the “State-Run” schools, so that our children are not sitting at home; why are we still stuck at home? This is ridiculous. Are we supposed to be writing the State? Who the graham cracker are we supposed to be writing, because I am passed annoyed.

Metro Hydraulic Jack Co. located on 1271 McCarter Highway, we need the street of Mt Pleasant Avenue to be plowed. I am an employee there and I can’t drive my car down the street. Looks like it was never plowed. I need to get to work so that I can pay my bills.

Highland Ave in the Forest hills section along with the side streets have not been plowed. Last night some trucks passed by without evening lowering the plows. There are families that can even get out of their driveways due to the accumulated snow on the streets. This is truly a reflection on the poor leadership of our city. One drive from these trucks commented that the streets were to snowed in and that he wasn’t going to bother lowering the plows. Way to go Newark officials, paying contractors that suck up the money and don’t do what’s supposed to be done. Extremely sad. Let’s go Anibal, do you job-

Sunday, 24 January 2016: 10:42 PM. Ridge Street between Ballantine and Heller Parkways is a mess: unplowed + neighbors shoveling their snow into the street. No one can get down the street. Help!

Past 10pm on Sunday (1/24) and Parker St between Bloomfield Ave and Park Ave has not been plowed. Cars getting stuck because they think its safe

North 7th Street and side roads leading to First Avenue school have not been plowed. North 8th Street (CVS & St. Francis Xavier Church) road is not passable, nearly room for 1 car to get through.

I am requesting advice on how to best resolve this issue of tree roots lifting the sidewalk in front of 412 Clifton Ave.


Parents and their children use these sidewalks daily to access the daycare across the street. I have contacted the sanitation department via email and phone, and to this date have not received a response. It has been 2 years of this

I left a message but did not post it publically, I hope that doesn’t mean I won’t get a response to my urgent problem concerning my sick daughter and the inept practices of the Department Human Setvices on Rector Street.

I would like to know more about the trip to bally’s casino, could you tell me who can go on this trip. I also understand that this trip is costing 15 dollars. I will be at city hall to find out more about this trip that will be Thursday Aug 20th.

I live on the corner of Heller Parkway and Parker Street. There are two trees on the curb (city property) that are overgrown with their branches now pressing up against my house. I’m concerned for my roof. Can you get these trees trimmed back? Thanks for your as help in this matter.

I live on Degraw Avenue and since the route on Verona was changed to a one way street ( due to cars crashing into a home there) my street has become extremely busy. The average car speed between Grafton to Heller is between 38 – 42 mph. In a 25 mile an hour zone. We have those white slow lines in our street, but alas they are of no use at slowing traffic. There are 15 children who live on this stretch of Degraw Avenue.

Could you possibly see if it’s in the budget to have at least 2 speed bumps installed. You know the kind where they build up the asphalt.

I’m afraid that one of these children are going to get hurt.

It would be wonderful if it could be done soon as the children are out of school now and the traffic is very heavy.
