Newark, NJ–A seventh seventh police precinct located at the Newark Schools Stadium is expected to open this summer.
Initially slated to be a mini-police station, the project grew in scope and eventually resulted in adding the seventh fully functioning police precinct.
“When School Stadium was designed, we included a community center that we hoped we could use as ap police mini-precinct in addition to other uses,” said North Ward Councilman Anibal Ramos, Jr, who spearheaded the creation of the additional precinct.
Legislation sponsored by North Ward Councilman Anibal Ramos Jr. to create and fund a special improvement district on Bloomfield Avenue and Lower Broadway was approved by the City Council.
